EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN'S PRAYER
Almighty God, we pray that You will bless our work in mission and ministry in the world. Make us so thankful for the power of Your love, given through Your son, Jesus, that we may pray, labor, and give liberally to make known that love throughout the world. Bless us that we may shine forth the joy and wonder we share in Your Name. Amen. |
The mission of St. Bride’s Chapter of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is to provide an opportunity to nourish women as Christians, build lasting friendships through fellowship with each other, promote spiritual learning, and provide service to our church, community and the world. All members of the church are welcome. The ECW supports the church through funeral or celebration meals, financial support via voluntary monetary donation and as requested and voted upon at our meetings. In 2023, ECW contributed to the Diocesan United Thank Offering and the Diocesan ECW. Locally, we donated money to Lifeline Food Pantry and Hope House of Ogle County. Purchases in 2023 included a new vacuum, chairs for the undercroft, smoke and CO2 detectors, and funeral luncheons/flowers. Activities - . Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper in February. We participated each Wednesday during the summer in serving lunches for the Summer Lunch program for children at Mix Park. We collected school supplies for needy students in July/August. In August we provided cards and assistance at Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center’s monthly birthday party. We put together treat bags for St. Gregory’s choir in September. At Christmas we sponsored residents at Oregon Living and Rehab Center. We also sponsored a needy family through the Adopt-A-Family program of Hope House. Fundraisers - In June we had the Ice Cream Social at the Mt. Morris Bandshell and in December we had a very successful Christmas sale! We meet at St. Bride’s Church and meetings are announced in the bulletin. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. ECW greatly appreciates all of the support they have received this year from the entire congregation! |
