Born on May 21, 1979 in Moline, IL, I am the son of Dr. Maria Paz S Cristobal and Mr. Reynaldo Cristobal in Peoria, IL. The youngest of three siblings, I graduated in 2001 from Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL with a Bachelor of Arts in history.
From 2001 to 2002, I participated in the Johnson Intern Program, serving as a Client Services Advocate in social work for Alliance of AIDS Services of North Carolina. From 2002 to 2005, I attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. Following seminary, I served as a lay parish intern at St. Paul and the Redeemer, Chicago and St. Christopher’s, Oak Park.
On June 3, 2006 I was ordained a deacon by Bishop Persell, and later ordained a priest on December 16 of that year. Since then, I have served as an assisting priest at Church of the Atonement here in Chicago, IL.
As far as interests, I’m a big history buff. I love epic films like Cecil B DeMille’s The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur. I like all kinds of music, from Mozart to Fleetwood Mac. I enjoy different kinds of food from a good barbecue to a nice pastichio. I’m somewhat fluent in French and love to travel. As far as hobbies, I am interested in taking up gardening and cooking.
